Post subject:  Looking for a good Syracuse dealer for BJ recall

Hey all,

I'm a student at Syracuse University and I'm looking for a good Jeep dealership nearby where I can get my balljoint recall done. I hear they have waiting lists pretty much everywhere, so I'm not expecting lightning quick service. I tried getting it done while I was home for winter break (Scranton, PA), but all the dealers there were giving preference to Jeeps that they sold. My dealer went out of business shortly after I got the KJ

Also, are any of the Syracuse-area shops particularly mod-friendly? I'm not lifted currently, but my front wheelwells are all torn up from when I had the 2.5" and 32's  so I don't want that to cause any trouble with warranty work.

Thanks in advance for the help!

(By the way, some of the old folks from the www.kjjeeps.com days may remember me. I was pretty active on the old forums, but it took me awhile to make the move. Now that I'm here, I definitely like what I see! I think I'll stay awhile  )

Bob,

I am based in New Hartford, just outside of Utica.

I brought my Jeep to Carbone Jeep in Yorkville. When they ordered my parts, they ardered many, many extra kits. It took a little while to come in because they were backordered, but when it came in, they got me in (They're open Saturdays) and finished it in one morning.

The whole reason why I went to them was when I had a Nissan Frontier, and my dealer went out of business, they bent over backwards for me when I had problems. Their sales staff, on the ther hand, ahem, is not as good as their service department. Their number is 315-736-3371.

Thanks,
Mario

Hey, Im from Syracuse too. I bought my Renny from Burdick's Used Car Warehouse in Drivers Village in Nov 2006 and while I originally went through Drivers Expressions, I started going through the Dodge-Jeep part of DV and while they are alright, I probably wouldnt recommend them. I could complain about Burdick for days on end, but lately the service people at Dodge-Jeep are earning a bit more respect than theyve had from me (although the Renny was there last week and the wash boy locked the keys inside it! ). Overall though, if I didnt have a warranty through them I probably wouldn't go there. :?

But, I will say that they are pretty good at getting me an appt as soon as the next day if it works for me.

Hey man long time since we talked!

I had my ball joint recall done at Burdick (Driver's Village) on 12/18. Their list was long, but I told them how I had a driverside failure already and they got me the the top of the list.

I've got a Rusty's 2.5" coil lift with Ranchos on 265/70-16s, they never mentioned a thing about the mods.

I know a few of people at Burdick who could likely help out if a situation were to come about.

edit - My KJ was purchased in Williamsport, PA so they had no real reason to favor me...
