| Post subject: | HELP!! Check Engine Light ON!! How to Pull Engine Codes ?? |
Wife just called on the way to work.... Her 05 Lib (only 1300 miles on in it) just threw a Check Engine Light. She states it appears to be still running OK. I told her to get to the Dealer ASAP (few miles away) to have the Code pulled and Checked Out. How does one pull a Code at home (if no instrument is available) ?? Is there a key on/off/on/off procedure or something ?? Anyone have a listing of Check Engine Light Codes ?? TIA! ERIC |

- or - ALL YOUR SEARCHES ARE BELONG TO US Yea, I know... I just added a complete list to the Tech Article Forum. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... php?t=1707 But....I did NOT find an answer (yet) on how to pull a Code withOUT a Code Scanner. Is there a way like the Key On/Off/On/Off type procedure available ?? |

1. Cycle the ignition key On - Off - On - Off - On within 5 seconds. 2. The odometer will show the P-code for the corresponding Diagnostic Trouble Code number. 3. If no DTC's are present, the cluster will display either: A. "P1684" and "done" B. Or, only "done" P1684 does not indicate a problem; it's only a status, which indicates that the PCM memory has been cleared within the last 50 ignition cycles. "Done" indicates that no DTC's are present and the procedure is complete |
