While looking for example of Ram-air hoods, I found this Liberty.

I assume it was made for a SEMA show, but don't know any details.

Any stories?

That takes a ton of patience to do

Look closely. It's also a convertible. Terry from Profinish-Proglass made it for a SEMA show. He also made the Hemi Ram that was on Trucks that Mario Andretti drove and signed the dash. He's also the one that built mine.

Pretty sweet. Is it fully functional? What sort of gains have you noticed?

On mine the opening in the bottom of the hood has been opened up more than the original. All the air from the scoop is dumped into a 4"X5" opening right above a K&N FIPK. It actually increased my interstate milage by over 15%. Made more seat of the pants power than the exhaust. Since I don't have a dyno in a wind tunnel, I need to take it over to the dyno, and drive it myself with the notebook hooked up. I can then calibrate the numbers. Then I can take it to the dragstrip and run it with the notebook, and compare the differences in hp and torque. But judging from the effeciency increase, it should deffinately be measurable. Just need to find the time.

So this was a pretty recent mod for you? How about contact information for Profinish?

We did it back in the summer of '04. I've just never measured the actual increase in hp and torque from the hood. I know it's there though. The problem with finding the time is I need to take some time off work to get the dyno runs in.

Up close it sure doesn't with the SkyJacker lift and those huge Mickey Thompsons. It's actually pretty big.

That supercharged Hemi with nitrous will really move. The stacks are to honor the Little Red Hemi Express. Mario should drive it the way it is now since he was so impressed with it the way it was when it was on Trucks.

That's about right for a fiberglass hood ,$500-$700 is the norm.

Forget the hood, how much to turn it into a convertible like that on the picture, it looks great.
