Did you try swapping the spark plugs in both of those cylinders also? Could even be a bad injector, put a screw driver up against the injector and put your ear up against the handle of the screw driver it should be ticking with the vehilce running. If not you have a bad injector or wiring. Check the wiring going to the coil, make sure that it is firing also. If all that checks out good do a compression test.

Is it a dead miss, random, only at idle, or under load/accel?

How many miles?

If you cannot figure it out after checking the obvious, check the compression on that cylinder. Ive been reading about valve springs breaking and causing a misfire. Get it checked out before something worse happens.

I wouldnt be to worried about the valve spring then. I was thinking more around 100k+..

Youve got plenty of Power train warranty left anyway. :)

I think what you need to do ,is buy a spark tester to plug into #6 wire while engine is running to verify a no spark condition. If all wiring and connectors are good to coil, and the tester does'nt show spark, you could be looking at a driver problem in the ECM.As you probably already know, don't remove this plug from engine while testing, you can get a spark tester for just a few dollars, and will use it alot in the future.

ill have to look into one of those and keep it in the '79 ford after i figure the problem on the lib. cause i know the ford has some spark issues.

thanks
