I searched, didnt get alll info wanted..so here goes

changing my fluids so i need some info
what and how much do I need for, front and rear open diffs, and auto tranny and transfer? (are the tranny and transfer hard to do? filter?)

I want to get it all and do them all at once.

No filter on the T-case

But there is a internal (and external) filter on the transmission and make sure you get the right stuff since the transmission change has a tendency to confuse some parts counter people.

thanks for that....

about the transmission, when should it be changed, mileage wise?

I will be going amsoil, so whats better the severe or syn diff lube?

also on that amsoil chart it says front diff. and rear diff take diff weights? I thought both take the same?

I think the factory trans fluid should be changed prior to 30,000 miles. (not + about nor do I care what the manual says)

I bought it with 36 and it now has 42k so i doubt its been done (tranny) any write ups on here for tranny and transfer fluid changes, i cant find any.

14 quarts for the tranny! :shock:

That's for a completely dry 45RFE(no fluild in converter or anything,ie-brand new),drain and refill is somewhere between 4-6 qts.Tranny flush is about 18 qts,tranny flush with filter change is about 24 qts(gotta waste some ATF to make sure all the old stuff is replaced with new ATF).
