My 06 Liberty has the standard cup holders on the console. I have an XM satellite radio that is mounted in one of the cup holders using a Belkin mount. http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductP ... _Id=272763

Needless to say my wife hates that the radio takes up one of the cup holders

Today I was in Checker Auto Parts and saw this cup holder:

It is supposed to wedge in between the seat and the console, but to my suprise, it fits perfectly over the Liberty grab bar!!

Problem solved!!! :D

When mounted on the grab bar (the "oh s%!t bar") how well does it hold a drink, and does the wedge get in the way of the glove box?

Phil,
What happens if the passenger air bag is deployed?

Someone will be wearing a bottle of soda if the air bag deploys... I wish my Liberty had that bar

Thanks for the tip Phil T. One of our cup holders is taken up by an ash tray and the other, closest to the storage console, is just plain useless for anything larger than a pop can.

I guess I'm running over to Checker today.

If this option is available, get a shorter wife :P

I would have gone with a different Satellite mount, personally. They have some pretty nice ones that bolt beside the radio and come out at a nice visible angle on the dash

It holds the drinks really well. It does block the glove box but just lifts off easily.

I am going to have to check on blocking the air bag. It may be an issue. I don't plan to keep it on the bar when it is not needed. It fits well under the seat.
