i have a CB antenna that is bracketed onto my spare tire. not shown in the pic is the coaxial cable that is attached to it, but that is where the adhesion has ocurred. i can not for my life get the two to come apart. how can i do this? also, on the front of my KJ, i have screwed some brackets into the front of the fascia for my ff75's (soon to be Hella 500's), and the rustoleum that was sprayed on them is getting hit with bugs and chipping it off. how can i make sure that some sorta paint, will not be chipped off? shown in this picture, at the bottom where the bracket for the 75's is screwed into the fascia.

wrench and hammer have always done the trick for me. As far as the paint chipping I wouldn't know what to tell you.

Standard techniques for stuck nuts/bolts
1) spray with WD40 or similar penetrating oil - let sit for a couple of hours - if that doesn't work
2) try some sort of heat source - propane torch or oxy Act works great but - be careful not to melt surrounding area.
3) nut breaker - most hardware stores sell them.

Guys on other Jeep boards swear by PB Blaster for stuck nuts and bolts. Maybe give it a try.

PB Blaster works wonders on rusted bolts. Broke 2 skid plate bolts trying to get them off (was in a hurry ). Sprayed on some PB Blaster, let it sit for a while and had no further issues.

PB blaster is a great penetrating oil.. WD-40 is not a penetrating oil..

As far as the paint goes, sand them down, clean them up, use some degreaser on them of some sort, and then use some "adhesion promoter" avaialable at most auto parts stores before you paint again.

It's most likely due to the oils in the steel bar stock you used that you didn't clean off well enough.

Also, you can try baking the pieces o top of your grill when you are cooking (like outside of the grill, on top of the cover or throw em in your oven at 300 for half an hour or so.
