That's crazy!! My HH went in just fine. I think they were 10mm but I don't remember. What year do you have?

why did my post show up twice....HMMMMM......Mine is an 02, glad to see Im not the only one having the problem(Said Sarcastically) seems odd that manufactures just use what ever they happen to grab. 7/16-20 and 10mm both seem closer than the 12mm they sent.

Hey Jetboat,
I've got a bag of 7/16-14 bolts from when I installed my front hitch. PM me your address and how many you'd like and they're yours.

The front hitch has been out of production for over a year. All companies as far as I know. Think I bought one of the last ones last summer from www.etrailer.com, the very last ones I saw listed were at www.boulderbars.com.

CaKJFreedom appreciate the offer but I need the hitch done by the weekend. Im going to run down to Ace tonight and grab a couple different sizes. I picked up 10mm at lunch yesterday and they are too small. Im having trouble thinking that they are 7/16 when the 12mm is too big.

12mm is closer to 1/2". Try 7/16"-14 or 7/16"-20, my guess is they're 14tpi.

How small is the 10mm? I had a hard time getting them in until I sprayed some rust remover and scrubbed out with a toothbrush. After that they went in fine. The nuts where dirty and had some rust build up. Look at yours. ---Please don't make this juvenile---

They are 12m bolts. Anything else is the WRONG size. For your trailers safety, go to the hardware, get a tap and clean out the threads. If memory serves it's actuall a 12m x 1.5 tap (but maybe a 1.25) Use one of your bolts as a guide.

For all of you out there just guessing and swapping in a different size bolt, that's just flat un-safe. This issue has been posted before as well.

7/16 x14 bolted right up and tightened down nicely but, I will definatly recheck everything to make sure that there is no way it could be a 12mmand just filled in with rust

YOU"RE RIGHT!!!!! They are 12mm x 1.5 I had a heck of a time getting the nuts clean enough tothread the bolts in but some PB blaster and a wire brush and you can get them in. I highly suggest that everyone running 7/16x14 replace them. 7/16x14 is teh same thread pitch as the 12mm so they thread in but they arent as tight as they need to be. Even is you torqued them to the right amount they will come loose.
