I didn't realize how bad it was down there. I live in one of the towns that was hit hardest this time around, and the immediate area is also more or less crippled...check out the videos from the local news station. Baaaad bombin' down there. Mind you this is the 4th time that we've been flooded in a year and a half, and many of the same people who just finished rebuilding from the last round are getting sucker punched again....if I didn't have school that was incredibly expensive, I'd be down there helping whereever I could...

I live in western New York, and even we are getting slushy snow and rain. Today it didn't stop at all and alternated between snow and rain. I don't think it even got below 35 degrees, but yet some of the snow still stuck. This is NOT what I had in mind for April!

I live just north of the city. Most all parkways here were closed, some still are. We have a local High School which is known for it's "Twin Lakes". The water was so high that now it's a large single lake and all you can see of the benches which were on the high ground between them are the tops! Even the seats were covered! The water went all the way over and UP the street in front of it which is on a hill! I was hittin puddles that other cars were stuck in. Yet, the chinese guys were still deliverin on their little moped/scooters!

Geez I miss big city life sometimes ... for the record, it's extremely difficult, nearly impossible, to find decent Asian food (Chinese, Thai, whatever) in Raleigh, Cary and nearby cities.

Thank goodness for Panda Express and PF Chang ... believe it or not those were actually better than a lot of the local choices.

If anyone gets out here to Denver, I know a great place. Best I have been to yet or Chinese, Korean, Japanese food. It is The Great Wall Buffet. Oysters, frog legs, duck, eel, salmon, musses, shrimp, etc. If you leave there hungry, it's your own fault.
