Very nice. How much heat do they give off ? The stock 55W bulbs would get the lens warm after only a few minutes.

Hello,

I replaced the stock bulb (42) by the HID bulb (35W). I got the kit from this site: http://www.XenonKing.com/

In my case , i have the H10 bulb in my fog light. So i went to the website and selected the same model in HID. Then you can select the color of the HID going from 3000K to 12000K . I did not get any answer on the heat but I think the 3000K is cooller than the 12000K. I got the 5000K because they are the one with the most output. I did not test and check my genuin light and see how hot they get. I try to put my hand on the fog light with the HID , it was really hot. But for sure less hot than a 55W bulb. I
was very heasy to install them. I installed the balast under the breaker box behind the hed light for the right. And i installed the ballast on the vertical braket on the left behind the light. I remove the signal turn and used to screws to secure everything. I used plastic strap to secure all wires.

I drilled two little hole for the screws into the plastic and intalled the ballast under the plastic and bolt it from the top. The breaker box does not go all the way down so you have about one inch of clearance

Image
On this side you can see on hole already there, you just need to drill two more little holes. I use rubber washer on each side and tight it well
Image
View from the top on the passager side. Use also some locker paste, you don't want to have the bolt getting lose in time. On the drive side you don't see anything because it is under the black plastic on the right of it

Nice mod. Are you going to do the headlights eventually too? I've heard people doing HID conversions on Grand Cherokees by cutting a hole in the headlamp housing and using a used HID projector lamp from an AUDI A8 or something similar. That way the beam is well focused and doesn't glare oncoming traffic. Again, nice fogs!

Post subject:  Head light

Hi,

Well i am doing some reseach for the head light . they make the 9007 bulb in hid with low and high beam ( www.xenonvalot.com ) for 700 euro with shipping. I am concern about the light output because all HID conversion are illegal and i don't want to get a ticket for that. The fog light i can use then when ever i want and they won't never do an glare to other car because they are very low.
I am looking for self leveler optical for the main head light . Any info will be usefull so i can do some testing and be the little lab rat  please don't pull my tail and hang me high ..... still looking and researching . I will look for that mod about the hid of an A8 into the head light but i need more info .... Any help please

Pascal
