I was lucky enough to get to set up the 2007 Auto show in Pittsburgh this week. During lunch breaks I was allowed to wander around and I found this:
I am ready to buy one as soon as it becomes available I realize that this one isn't Jeep related but it was just soooo sweet!

That's cool. Where do we get one? Wouldn't have to worry about anyone referring to that as a girly Jeep. That's a man's jeep !!! |

Ever see one of the old Jeep pickups? They had the spare in that exact location. I love it! How much and when can I pick it up? That color, please? |

You can get a kit to build a Jeep Brute from AEV. I think that's the closest available.

I have seen that thing all over the place, they will never build it due to high cost. They may someday build something similar but dont hold your breath on that exact model. They are going to wear it out hauling it around! |

Initally DX said it would be here by 2008 with the 2.8 CRD and a 6 speed manual. But then they changed there mind and said that it was not cost effective to build it. More recently they have been entertaining the idea of building something similar to the Gladiator if public response was strong enough. So we will see. |

Yeah, it's not looking good for the Gladiator. The May issue of Four Wheeler magazine had it on page 16 and they say it's all but officially killed. Although it looks like they are interested in expanding on the JK platform with either the "Trail Hawk" concept or something else along the same lines. I would definately want a Gladiator, but I think I would be like number 87,352 in line to get one at least. Guess that's not enough interest! |

I was ready to buy a Gladiator as soon as I saw it several years ago! I soooo want one because I miss the lugging ability of my Ram, but I don't want to give up the "Jeep Thing"! |

It also had the 3.0L Diesel in it!! Are you sure it was the 3.0 and not the 2.8? Im pretty sure the original had the 2.8 in it....sorta makes me wonder why they would put the 3.0 in there if the project is dead That has got to be the most appealing vehicle that I have seen in a long time. If they made that I might forget about buying an elise and start saving for the gladiator instead. Especially if it has a diesel option. |

It also had the 3.0L Diesel in it!! Jeger is correct it has the 2.8L VM Motori I4 that is in our KJ CRD's. Sorry folks but project Gladiator is dead! Thet drag the Gladiator around Auto Shows to draw people to their floor space. DCX has no intention of building this! Instead, you get the Jeep Compass as a new "cool" vehicle VM Motori will produce a 3.0L V6 that goes into the Cadillac CTS in 2008 |

They sad thing is they say there isn't enough interest to build it yet on every Jeep board I visit, people keep saying they would love to have a Jeep truck. How's the saying go :"Build it and they will come"? |
