i dropped my jeep off tuesday to get the window fixed (it was off track) and the LBJ recall done

i picked it up wednesday afternoon and was on my way home about 10 mins away already, and forgot i had no music on....so i went to my ipod and it wasnt there...

i never take it out of my car since i have 2 , 1 for car and 1 for gym.....

i called but it was after hours at their service desk...so i have to wait till later on today to talk to them

what the hell.....it has my name engraved on the back too so i dont see what the point in stealing it is

god im pissed

Which dealership did you take it to? I've had problems with both the one in Waipahu and the one Dillingham.

Tried to take my KJ in for the LBJ recall at Dillingham, they told me I wasn't allowed to get a rental and were very agressive towards me. Waited til I got back to the mainland to do the recall and the service manager here showed me where it says that I was ALLOWED to have a rental. I liked my sales rep, but I hate the service dept there. Good luck! I'd definatly file a complaint.

I'm sure people will tell you that you should take it out when you drop it off at the service dept. But I think that's hard to do all the time, I forget about things I have in my KJ and don't think of stuff like that all the time.

Ugh, don't like them much either. Good luck! Maybe file a complaint with the corporate office. I'm not a big fan with Cutter and how they own almost every major dealership in HI. Cutter and Tony Group are a bunch of theives IMO.

Soory to say you probally out of luck.Did you sign some type of paper allowing the dealer to work on your KJ? Did youread the fine print or the signs around the shop saying "not responsible for items left in your vehicle"? Sorry man,it sucks but going to half to consider that IPod as a good as gone and the dealer is not going to care or be responsible.

I wouldn't trust any one in HI with my stuff. People have some REALLY sticky fingers there. I had my bike stolen there in a lit parking lot when I was away for all of an hour and a half. There were very few guys there I trusted.

Actually, you might have a little luck.

Back when I owned a Dodge, I took it in to a dealer to have it serviced. Shortly afterwards I noticed my radar detector was missing. Pulled off the side of the road, about a mile from the dealer, and searched all over for it...under the seats, trunk glove box, map pockets...everything.
Went back to the dealer and talked to the dealer. The next day, I showed them which model I had per their request. I even provided a receipt, which wasn't required.
Two days later, they told me to come in and handed over a $375 check.

Be persuasive and persistent...and of course, honest.

Good luck with getting your iPod, or money, back.

If the dealer still wants to keep your business i think they will work with ya. Just don't go straight in there throwin blows, try a lil reasoning first.

That's probably the best advice. The same dealership he went to refunded wheel balancing done to my jeep from another shop. They had told me they did it, when they had not.

On a side note, I'm going to be in Albuquerque next week lol.

Good luck EOD-KJ

File a police report for theft listing the dealer as the suspect(s).

Of course, if they give you crap while there it may help to pull out your cell phone and ask for the number of the Better Business Bureau and the local newspaper's editorial dept....... Also ask them for the name/number of the district/regional manager and also for a contact # at the corporate offices. Be upfront about letting them know that the grief you are going to cost them in bad publicity is gonna cost them way more than the cost of your Ipod. Also mention the 4000 + members of LOST that will read your posting.
