No need to change anything when you get bigger tires. Nothing changes except the volume of the air and the sensors do not care about that.
If you do not switch them over, you will get a really cool warning chime and message at each start up.

Hi All, I'm trying to decide if I should keep my tire pressure sensors and put them in my new tires. They've been out for a while and I want to sell my old renegade rims and tires. It seems like a pain to have them switched over and probably need to have the dealer change the evic to read differnt pressure for the new larger tires. What have you all done? Kept them or gotten rid of them? Thanks! |

I don't get the chime but I'm tired of that warning showing up on my evic thingy and having to hit the button to get the direction and temp to display. |

I switched mine out from my stock renegade rims and tires to Moab rims with stock tires, then added BFG KO 245/75/16 tires to the Moab rims and have had zero problems with the sensors to date. I'm running 36 lbs in the BFG KO's. |

If you're tired of the warning why would you get rid of them. The warning will be there letting you know it's not sensing tire press. The warning will not go away. I know becasue i have an evic with no tire press sensors in the wheels. I'm putting them in this weekend when my mt/r's go on. The warning is annoying

Yeah I'm going to keep them. Has anyone every replaced these themselves or does a tire shop have to do it? I looked for a write up on the forum and can't find anything about it. Seems like something a tire shop should do, but if it's something I can do I'd rather do it myself. Thanks for all the info! |

I like this idea (but haven't tried it) Take a PCV tube, cap one end, toss in the sensors, cap the other end. Install a standard valve stem and pressurize the tube to 32 PSI. Fooling the sensors Should make for less noise when you air down on the trail |

If you typically seat your own beads and install new valve stems yourself, then it should be a DIY job. Otherwise, you'll probably get charged a few bucks per wheel by a decent shop installing the new tires. If you're lucky, they'll do it free. |

I did not do mine myself, but watched as a friend did it. If I remember correctly you just unskrew the stem after you deflate the tire. The sensor it a little plastic thing that sits flush against the rim. Again, I did not do this myself, but it looked very easy. |

Thanks PBrug. I think I'll give it a shot on my stock tires and if it goes horribly wrong and I lose an eye, then I'll take them in to the shop. I'll probably try this weekend and let everyone know how it goes. |

Just to give an update. For some reason the day after I posted all was fine with my senors, the dash light came on for my senors. I've messed with the preasures a little and it is still on. I jinxed myself for sure by posting here. |
