A few weeks ago I was looking through a forum, I’m not even sure if it was L.O.S.T. but I saw a Jeep that had a beefed/reinforced clevis. I think it was a Liberty, bit it looked nothing like the OEM on our Liberty. It could have been a CRD but I’m not sure. Now I’m really curious does anyone know if there is a company that builds these? Have you seen anything similar? Is it really needed or could it have been for looks?

This is a picture of the ones we have on out Liberty’s.

This is what I remember seeing installed on one.

That is probably the RockKrawler clevis for the 3.0 or 3.5 lift.

Jeepin Al was using it on his KJ. Look at his posts and you might find pics of it.

They look very similar but those don’t look like a clevis. I’ve looked for a picture of one installed but no luck.

BAM! :D Good search thanks. That’s what I saw.
Now will this actually part of the lift kit? Does it give the vehicle height? Or is it more for reinforcement?

Those are the same as the ones in the photo above. They are Rock Krawler's latest attempt at a lift. Available in 3" & 3.5" lifts.
I'm pretty certain it is the only front end component of their lift. You use stock springs & struts...That is not how Al did it though! :)

So the kit has four; two per side?
If we were to purchase these and install them along with a Rusty's 2.5 lift would it eliminate the need for a "clevis lift" that is done with the conduit nuts?

There is only 1 per side. that is a side view in the pic.

This would not be a replacement for conduit nuts. That clevis alone will give you the whole 3" of lift. If you added the rustys to that you would have that start of your own B.A.L.L.S. which I think was 5.5"

Ahh I understand. It would be nice if it was a heavy duty version but the same size of the OEM. That OEM clevis looks too darn cheap and weak. Thanks

If I remember right wasn't there a post about some interior clevis clearance problems with the CVs on the CRD with this lift.

Yes, this lift cannot be used with the CRD's since the cradle is alittle different.

I'm running CRD coils up front with Rancho struts. In the rear 3.5" coils with 2" Revtek pucks.

 Another winner from RK for the KJ. A few people already reported that you'll rip the CV boot with those, Al included.

That was based on someone's experience with these on a CRD, before RK said "not for CRD. They received awful customer service & RK said the problem was in the install... later they finally bowed out & published the "not for CRD" disclaimer. Grumpee has been running it for awhile on his gasser without problem, & I think Al's KJ still has them on board.

Grumpee,
What is your total lift with that setup? Is it 5" in the rear? What do the CRD springs + 3.5 RK get you up front?

I have yet to take any measurements. I'll try my best to get some this afternoon and post the results tonight.

I'm assuming the measurements are taken from the top middle of the fender flare downwards to the pavement?

I don't know where the official spot is. I suppose the longitudinal frame members under the car near each wheel or the front cross member between the front wheels that the LCA bolts to. Fender flares will probably work.

Although taking measurements from the flare to the pavement isn't the most accurate, these were the results.

36 1/8 inches in front
36 1/4 inches in rear
