Ebay purchase!

I just won a bid from ebay on a set of rock rails off of a 05 Renny!They are aparently not scratched much and in excellent shape and the best part is they were only $1.09. Yes thats right $1.09. Just thought i would post this to let eveyone know that these kind of deals are out there and our KJ's can be done the way we want them without paying top $$$.

I got Mopar rock rails from Ebay, paid about 135 with shipping which I think was about 25 bucks.

If he pays anything over $100 for shipping, it is nto a great deal. Anything less, it is a steal!

I put a post up here asking if they would fit a 03' and everyone said that they would(i hope they do) If not i will try and fabricate them so they do, But as far as i know they use the same mounting points and everything so it should go smooth.
As far as shipping, they are in the same province as myself and only about a 5 hour drive so if shipping is too much then i will pick them up. I dont mind paying $80.00 for shipping if i got the rails for $1.09. I believe the rails new are around $500.00 CDN.

congrats man. I bet he won't accept pick up, or if I was picking up I would still pay him like $40-50 or whatever I thought was a favor...

I have already emailed and asked about pickup and he's ok with it if shipping is alot.I was suspose to get mutts rock rails but shipping was going to be $148.00us per rail!!!ha i dont think so!

They will fit but they may have a gap where it should cover the pinch weld. Ive seen a set in person that was made for 05+ on a pre 05.. .. They look ok..

jeepjeepster why dont they cover the pinch weld? Do they not extend far enough out or should they be sitting higher to cover the pinch weld? And would it be benifical to keep that rubber on that hides the pinch weld or would it have to go? Just trying to figure out how and what can be done if i have to fabricate them?!

There is plastic molding that runs along the rocker panel on the '05s. The reason it's different in a boulderbar sense is they had to extend them out slightly for '05 and up. I also believe the original ones didn't fit well with that molding there.

Not an expert, but I can't imagine why the renegade rock rails won't fit on an older KJ.

Here is a picture of my KJ yesterday after I got it lifed. You can see the black plastic molding that is along the rocker panel.
