Looks like a great start there pixeldzn! I have the springs, metal for the frame , wheels but no tires yet. Oh and nothing even started to be welded together.

You are going to make your Jeep a 2WD to save on fuel.

The leaf springs are for the rear seat suspension you have been wanting to make.

The receiver tube is for a bike rack, so that you can ride your pink bike home when you run out of gas. :lol:

Yep, it's for a trailer. I was trying to be funny when I said "guess" :shock:

I got the parts from a whole bunch of places. Picked up my square tubing today from Metal Supermarkets.

Axle: abctrailerparts.com
Rims: Summit Racing

Trailer Jack and Fenders: Northern Tool
Latches for Tailgate: Grainger
Lock n' Roll coupler setup: locknroll.com
Wheel Spacers (misplanned on spring hanger location for the wider tires): northridge4x4.com

That pink bike is my weekend toy. Don't make fun of it!!! I had to wrestle it from my daughters grasp last time I wanted to ride it. :lol:

its a 7x4 with 21" high sides with 245/75R16 Cooper ST tyres

i found getting a longer axle was cheaper than spacers but if you already have them , i will shut up now

Here are some updated pics of the parts pile:

Close-up of the lock and roll hitch setup:
The lefthand part is a hitch reciever tube to be welded to the trailer tongue. The middle part is the trailer side of the setup. The righthand part is the vehicle side of the setup. It mounts to a standard hitch drop bar.

This is a huge improvement over the old school pintle-hook setup used on military trailers. It is much quieter, but offers all the articluation of he pintle setup. This is what Adventure Trailers uses for thier rigs.

you can roll the trailer on its top and your jeep stays on its wheels

Treg's are hard to get over here. Over on Expedition Portal, Martyn from Adventure Trailers explained that he tried to negotiate with the manufacturers of the Treg to distribute them here, but they weren't interested in the necessary DOT testing. They also didn't want to export because they just barely can keep up with the huge local demand in AUS.

These Lock n' Rolls are made by Great Lakes Forge here in Chicago and seem to have about the same features as a Treg, they just get there in a different manner.
