anybody know if they make a cowl hood for the KJ? I have always loved that hood design and i think it would look awesome on a lifted kj, make it look really aggressive.

Oh wow I just noticed that it was 2 door....that thing is awesome!!! Looks like a perfect 4x4 rig.

I was thinking the other day after a buddy of mine asked me why I like my Lib so much. The most succinct answer I could come up with was...

"It is all the advantages of the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee together with none of the disadvantages."

I agree but can think of 2 disadvantages.

wrangler-- roof comes off
grand cherokee--- v8 option

You can't get those options together so i guess you're right best of both worlds.

Here is a link to the 2nd one----http://www.e-bodyparts.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=TLBH-98DT&Category_Code=98-Jeep-Liberty&Product_Count=0----don't mind that the place thinks there are '98-'01 KJ's.

I would think so, your fender flares would take much more of a beating

should be fine unless you plan on cutting limbs right over it

I think the Hood Scoop from the Subaru WRX would work and look great on a KJ...mounted toward the back of the hood like the Subaru.

ask and you shall receive...... I really like it. Now, if there were only a way to filter the air that's coming in, because its perfect right over the throttle body

Yep that looks good and it would be just a bit bigger. The good part is that even in water crossings the air would be coming in at such a high point you would probably not hydrolock. Thans for the photshop.

I have concerns about rain. How does the WRX solve this? How does water not flood that intake? If you use that on a jeep, what would youhave to do to prevent water intake?

That hood scoop on the STI is not for Intake Air. It's for the Intercooler. Actually the STI even has Water Spray nozzles inside that scoop, so the driver can push a button and cool the intercooler while stopped to relieve heat soak. If you stop next to an STI at a red light and you see a plume of steam come out of the hood, the driver is activating the water spray.

The air intake on the STI is in a similar position to that of the KJ.

P.S. If I could have any car, within reason, I'd take the one in the picture in a heart beat...

I know it is for the intercooler (like my old 1988 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II) but the scoop could be made functional for air intake...since that is what it is there to do...collect cool fresh air. Would still be a lot of work...but it would look very trick.
