Just wondering if anyone has gone out to explore trails in the BlackRock or Smoke Creek deserts. Working on the Railroad from Portola CA. I take trains across there all the time. There are some pretty awsome mountains out there and the playa goes forever.

Was there last month on the graded road up from Pyramid Lake, but turned around at the UPRR crossing SW of Sand Pass. Placed a geocache on a tufa tower closer to Pyramid Lake, but still need to publish it at geocaching.com.
