Do many of you use the Haynes repair manuals - are they pretty useful? Most of you are probably knowledgeable enough about Jeeps to not need one, but for a noob, would you recommend it?

I've got one and it's fairly comprehensive. Your best bet is to see if you can find a factory service manual. I just downloaded it from JeepKJCountry, but they just deleted it due to the possibility of copyright infringement and legal issues brought up against the sight admin. I guess I got it just in time! :D Look around on line and I'm sure you'll be able to pick up bits and pieces of it. I'd offer to email it to you, but it would take forever and a day to do so. I only have a slow DSL connection and it's around a 450MB file in .pdf format. Ask around on these forums and you might be able to find someone with a better capability of emailing large files.

I think that the later year Liberty manuals like yours are on DVD only, which is good if you have a printer.

You can order the CD here: 800-890-4038. I don't know the cost though.

I picked up the service man on line about 2 years ago when it was posted all over the place. You might be able to find someone who'd be willing to burn you a copy and send it to you if you can't locate it someplace on line. You could always PM someone to avoid the mispropriety of taking a chance of anyone admitting in the forum that they would do that.

Could probably find one on ebay. I got one off of there before for my old bmw for like $2.
