Well I have no idea what you guys drove before, but the 6-speed on '07's is a disaster. Complete junk !!! The JK guys seem to believe it has to do with the "electronic throttle control" and currently there is no fix for it.
So if anyone has problems with it and wants more realistic comments I'd go to the sites I mentioned.
I thought I was going nuts, because I couldn't understand why the people that replied here could love it so much. I feel better now that I've seen comment after comment about how crappy it really is.
I would say that there is nothing wrong with the 6spd, only the computer crap that DCX put on in '06 and '07. I loved the gearing offroad and used it as a 3spd (2-4-6) when I wasn't trying to go like a bat-out-of-hell on the street. But I've felt your pain, which is why I'm in an Unlimited (and the wife put her foot down about an auto this time). Say, those '06 Wranglers had the same 6spd, but w/o the ESP and etc., does anyone say anything about them acting up? I test drove a few and thought they were just like the one in my KJ, except without the computer glitches
