Instead of a dash overlay has anyone tried painting their interior trim? I was thinking of painting mine to match the outside paint. I've seen some other cars that were horribly done and the paint was peeling off. And if you have done this and had it come out okay, what kind of prep and paint did you use? One of my friends on my ship had done part of his but he had fiberglassed the center console to add an LCD screen. I know usually you have to use a good degreaser... Any pics would be greatly appreciated too. Thanks.
Need to scrub the areas with denentured alcohal really good, about 10 times at least. If you ever used anything like Armorall you will need to really scrub it at least 20 times to get it all out, don't be shy using the denentured alcohal to.Lightly sand the items with 380-600 grit sandpaper and rinse with wax and grease remover(or denetured alcohal again). If using a professional spray gun you need to add adhesion promoter or you can use a spray can paint with it in it like Krylon's Fusion paints. The denetured alcohal scrubing, sanding, and adhesion promoter are very important to get paint to stick to plastic and last.
