 Post subject: Painting "LIBERTY" On The Side Chrome Strip

First off, sorry about the pic quality. I used Dark Khaki touch-up paint.

1. I cleaned off the lettering with acetone to remove any oil or wax.
2. Covered lettering with painters masking tape.
3. Cut out lettering with exacto knife.
4. Used the touch-up paint brush to paint 2 coats.
5. Masked off with newspaper.
6. Sprayed with clear coat.

That was it. After the last picture I went back and cleaned up the lettering a little. (tiny pieces of tape)

I like it...the little details like that are what make a vehicle...cool stuff...if only mine weren't crappy textured plastic

I'm constantly o the lookout for somethig to replace that strip with that will still protect the door but look better.... but that's pretty far down a long list of other projects on this rig....

When the time comes check with some junk yards to see if you can find some nice shiny ones. :D
