IMO just get some regular NAPA replacements... Sure the slots or drill holes look cool - but they don't make enough of a difference when the replacement is still the same size. In other words - save your money |

x2 on the NAPA OEM replacements. They work just fine and are $50-75 cheaper than slotted at my local NAPA. |

Anyone have any facts to back up the Napa rotors? Or is that a personally opinion. |

Thanks for the input everyone. I understand wanting to save money and all, but I would like to get extra performance out of my only discs - the 02's have drums in back, remember. The piglet isn't getting any lighter with all the mod's and stuff I carry. I disagree a bit that upgraded slotted and/or drilled rotors with upgraded pads would be similar to OEM in performance. We all know the OEM's warp due to heat build-up. I've had to have mine turned a couple times in 80,000 miles. I don't expect a HUGE difference, but I'd like some improvement, and I'm willing to pay for it. I poked around some of the brake websites: EBC rotors - set of 2 for the front - $180 EBC pads - set of 4 for the front - $90 POWERDISC rotors - set of 2 for the front - $170 HAWK pads - set of 4 for the front - $75 I think OEM replacements are probably a 1/3 to 1/2 the cost. |

Mainly it's a cost thing for me but the Napa stuff is pretty good quality. I just can't see spending the big $$ for the brembro's (I think they were $100.00 if memory serves me correctly) |

Hey Jeepjeepster, both of the shops I've worked at for the past 25 years or so have trusted NAPA for about 90% of our parts, including rotors. It might not be the facts your looking for,but it is quite a few years of consistant quality. Ron |

X2.....Have only heard from our customers that the hawk pads are well overrated.I'll probably average about 7 to 10 brake jobs a week, and the last thing I need is to do the job twice. Our shop has tried about every pad you could name, and we keep going back to the NAPA ceramic's.As for their rotors, you can buy their less expensive line if your on a budget, but we strongly recommend their top line.If you tap on either rotor with a small hammer, you will find that the better grade will have a lower tone, wich usually results in better steel.I've also found that with sqealing problems,it's best to very lightly lube the back of the pad,and the contact points in the caliper itself.Use a high temp lube made to withstand temps. of about 400 degrees.Brake sqeal has been the most common major problem for parts makers and techs.,but we have cut that problem down considerably using NAPA brake parts and better techniques.
