I was silly enough to fool my self into 265/70 - 15 on my Jeep 2003.
This rubs.
I have read about the pitch weld hammering, maybe I will try this, but this doesnt cause trouble now, the trouble is that when I turn fully, the tires rub heavily into the inside of the front fender :-((
How can fix this?
I have thougtht to remove the whole d... inside fender, I use only these BFGs from may to sept, in the dry, not winter season.
Or should I rather cut a big "flap" in it right behind the fogligths?

EDIT:

I have searched the manual and edit/rephrase this discussions -- it is the "Front wheelhouse splash shield" I am talking about !!

Due to several nice postings I now know that I perhapse should remove this splash shield -- thank you folks!
But, before I start to remove the shield, I should like to get some input on the following:

a) Removal:
-- how do I remove the push pins nicest ? (drilling?)
b) will this cure all the rubbing?
c) what negative consequenses should I be aware of? Wintertime with heavy snow and heavy saltspray on the roads?
d) what coating should I use?
e) what about the "pitch weld" -- still a problem?

This is how it looks like, copyright Jeep service manual

some people use a heat gun to reshape the liner / foglight door. i have not done this myself though, so hopefully someone with experience with this will chime in.

I removed the hole finder liner and sprayed a good undercoating on mine
I been 3 years. every once and a while I touch up the coating because I still have a slight rub at full lock ,you have to turn it and hold it down to get it . I dont know what the difrence in 265/70 and 265/75 are in with. I have stock 02 Wheels

Most just take out the rib-bits ( plastic )that hold the liner in and than relocate the washer bottle

Has anyone tried this easy way
(1) Decide where you want then
(2) Drill you hole
(3) Put nutsert in and tighten it down
(4) remove bolt and install light

, remove the plastic ribits around the finder flare and there are three or four on the body. on the riders side that will expose the windshield washer just relocate it. there are a lot of post that will give you different ways.

I changed and added different lights on the bumper. I did not half too and most don't.

I was talking about the "front fender inside removal" to give room for my spaceous 265/70 tires.
What are you describing now - I read something about driving lights -- this isnt in the fender removal procedyre ?

Yellow is where you want to remove the rib its in the picture
blue dot is where they are
don't remove the red that's the fender Flare it stays.
good under coating or bed liner will do
"pitch weld" bend it back

Nice drawing!

Do I need to remove the wheel -- seems like all pins can be removed from outside?

I did not take the wheels off ,might be easier to do the pinch weld with them off.

Ok, almost there, what tools did you use to get them out? A drill?

(the pinch weld must be done with wheels off, thats a different history..)

I just cut the plastic rib its with a knife and hacksaw blade . just the blade not the frame. I left the rib bits in the finder flares so I did not have holes.

Take you knife or blade and put it between the flare and liner and cut.
