Got into a wreck yesterday. A lady thought I had moved off of the exit ramp so she mashed the gas and drove under my Jeep. I came out of it pretty good because I just had a lift installed a couple of weeks ago and I have a hitch in the rear. My D-ring was still in because I had went riding on Saturday. The spare tire pushed her hood about halfway back the motor, and smashed in the grill. Her left fender also was pushed back to the door. I have a small dint on my swing gate where the tire mount is and a little green paint. I took some pictures of her car that I will post later.

Glad you're ok. My dad got rear ended in his Toyota Tundra a few months ago, small little dent in his bumper, crumpled hood on the dude's car. As it was the guy that hit him ran off, pretty common for that in Albuquerque where my dad lives.

Once again glad you're ok. Nice being high ain't it?

Sorry to hear about your chance meeting! That happen about 3 times to my old 76 Wagoneer, once by a back hoe on a job site, once by a very prego young lady in a Firebird and once by two guys in a 67 Mustang. The old wagglin-ear "lost" to the backhoe, but won with both cars. The poor girl couldn't drive the Firebird away.

Glad you are ok, and just some minor stuff to the Liberty. You shouldn't have told us, you could have said you did the damage on a really nasty trial Saturday!

About a week ago I had to run back home from almost being at work to retrieve my laptop. I stopped at a light with 2 cars in front of me. I looked into my review mirror and saw the driver looke down at the inside center of his vehicle. I thought to myself, "He's going to hit me." The driver looked up, pulled to the right and "BAM!" hit my back passenger side.

Image

$2k of damage for me.
His '95 Blazer had to be towed away. It's pretty much totalled. I didn't have my camera with me, so I couldn't get pictures of his truck. The kid had his license for all of 3 weeks. His father was amazed at how little damage there was to my Jeep. My little Renegade is being repaired now. I have to drive around a Chevy Cobalt. Good news, a week of 30 mpg.

Other good news, he hit me where I put a dent in the bumper from hitting a tree while I was in Uwharrie. Too bad he didn't hit the front passenger door too, I could have gotten that tree scrap fixed too.

Glad everyone's ok. Odd seque: I bought my Liberty after I got broadsided in my Camry wagon by a GMC Yukon. I loved my wagon but when I was forced to buy another car a friend of mine said, "Ya know I've always seen you in a Jeep". It was like a lightbulb clicking on and I've been absolutely thrilled with my decision ever since!

I feel like that sometimes with my Jeeps. My KJ has been tapped 3 times, once by an idiot in a Jetta that couldn't get his car out of reverse and kept hitting me in the front. I freaked out on him because I was tired of people running into my Jeep. (Don't mess with a pregnant woman's Jeep!)

My husbands WJ has been hit twice. We were rear-ended within a month of owning it. That lady's Dodge Shadow was totaled. The WJ needed a new bumper and gas tank skid plate.

Are people just in awe by the Jeeps they aren't paying attention?

I bought my Liberty after being broadsided by a Yukon. I was in a Camry! The emergency service folks who arrived on the scene couldn't believe the driver of the Camry (me) was standing and talking. I'm done with 'cars'.

Life's Rules:

1. Buy a new vehicle and it is guaranteed to get dinged by worthless jerks within a week.
2. Park furthest away from all vehicles in a parking lot and when you get back, someone has either parked next to you out in BFE land or you somehow got a ding in your door
3. Never park next to a really expensive car. They thnk your vehicle is cheap and so they will ding it.
4. Never park next to a piece of junk. They don't care if they ding yours because their vehicle IS crap and another paint scratch or ding on their vehicle means nothing to them.

Thats why if I have the option, i'll park next to another Jeep. Seems to be that "it's a jeep thang" mentality, and needless to say, my door has only been dinged once (stupid POS Ford BOMB that parked next to me at lowes and left a gift on my door when I came back out....grrrrr.)
