Post subject:  Windows Getting Stuck!!!!!

I got a KJ 65th about 9 months ago. In November of 06, I noticed that my drivers window was having a hard time going up, so I took it to the dealer. They replaced the motor and it worked for about 2 weeks. I took it back and they replaced track. Again, I got a few weeks out of it and right back the the dealer. The last time that I had it in, they made some adjustments to the track and it worked fine for about 4 months. This will be the 4th time for this problem and I'm looking for answers. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix? Are there any Tech Bulletins for this problem?

Ive not heard about someone having that many problems, but the windows do seem to be a problem on the liberty. People complain about regulators going bad but they usually do not have as much trouble as you are having.

My driver's window seems to have a hard time to get moving up from about midway. I think that the edges of the window opening need some lubricant of some type, as that seems to be where it's dragging. I have yet to figure out what lube to use, so it would not creep to the glass too much or harm the edge of the window opening material.

After some Google searching, it seems as though silicon spray lube may be the only answer. I have some clear silicon spray I use on the door gaskets etc., every year so will try that.

I wouldnt spray anything anywhere that can get on the glass. Your window motor should have enough torque to overcome the window seal regardless of how dry or grabby it is. It has to be something in the track that is dry. Ive never taken the panel off on the KJ yet but I would start by taking off all the lube on the tracks and replacing with similar stuff. From what Ive seen so far on mine is all the lube starts to get gummy and doesn't lube after a few years.
