So how many of you guys use your daily driver KJ as an offroader from time to time? Also how does it hold up? Of course, the father who talks with his friends with the tj's and yj's think the KJ can not do anything offroading or it will just break. I tell him how wrong he is but he knows all he thinks...i showed him some videos but he still thinks they must break down lots after all the "abuse". So guys, lets hear how your KJ holds up!

Also pics are welcome to prove it to him.

jeeps break down???????
seriously, this isnt just another car based SUV that diamlerChrysler pulled out of their butt at the last minute, like the RAV4, CR-V. Theres nothing "delicate" about any of its components that i can tell, and i should know, i banged up the bottom of this thing on saturday so badly and all i have to show for it are some scratches and a ding. infact saturday was my first time taking mine off road. it felt bulletproof the entire trail, like a little tank! and when i encountered a huge rock that i had to climb, it just powered right over it, like a little tank! im sure that it has weak spots that tougher trails would have exposed, but doing my pretty rough trail, it proved to be a little tank! i am confident that jeep put the kj's thru some extreme stuff before putting it on the market, afterall, this was the SUV that had HUGE shoes to fill... replacing the cherokee and all!

Other than my rad fan failure (due to water debris) and my mirror removal, I've never had anything break.

Im still trying to convince the wife that the KJ is okay to take off road from time to time. So Im waiting to better equip it before I take it out again.

I don't have the picturs up yet, but yesterday, a buddy and I went all over Hollister Hills Off-road park. I got the KJ, he has an 88' Ranger with a 4" lift. I kept up with him the whole day. Its all in how you drive it.

Glad to hear that Wranglers never break down and KJ's can't wheel.

I just realized... I don't have any good pictures since I've lifted the truck, though I guess living in NJ doesn't help... I'll need to fix that..

Nice

Now, here is my question, does this "man" wheel his TJ?
Does he know this little obstacle in Moab:

It is the Escalator... Clint reaffirmed to me that I didn't have to do it after we got there to find a TJ sideways in it, but hey, I had to show off what the KJ can do to a stuck TJ...

As for breaking, only breaks I have had were on aftermarket components, and a flooded tranny due to my own stupidity

She was a daily driver until last summer, now she tows the trailer and goes wheeling.
I also have a video going up Hell's Gate I could e-mail

Over the river and through the woods to the "mall" we go!

I don't offroad as much as the rest of the group - but my Liberty has never let me down when the pavement dissapears.
