Guys, seems like everybody is having some transmission problems and that sucks but I need to ask you about another tranny problem.
Do you all know the sound that a fan makes when its on and you hold a piece of paper to it? It sounds like trrrrrrrrrrrrr (the best way I could spell that)
Well when I shift from Park to Drive it sounds just like that for a few seconds, its quite loud and I can hear it if I have my windows rolled down.
Its the only time it does that, any other time it shifts fine.
You guys have any idea whats going on and if its serious, any ideas would be great?

It's the shift solinoids energizing, almost all newer DC trannies do it,mine does it all the time.

It's normal, from day one. It has an electronic gear shifter.

So I don't need to take it to the dealer to get it checked out?

I'm actually a psychic and can tell you already what the dealer invoice will say.....

"No trouble found. Noise is normal"

That is better than the dealer putting "Customer is crazy - this is a great JEEP"

All Chrysler products make that noise. Just go to the supermarket parking lot and watch the minivans start up and drive out.
