Just purchased a 2007 liberty limited yesterday. It now has 71 miles on it and just started stalling out of the blue. It doesnt sound like it is struggling for gas or anything, the engine just dies. Anyone have any experience with this? |

Not me... It could be a loose terminal at the battery - I'd check that first off and then schedule a re-visit with the selling dealer to have them check for codes. It's probably something minor |

Thanks. I called then and scheduled it to go in tomorrow. Hopefully you a correct and it is something minor, not a good way to start with this thing. My 03 rene has been solid (aside from some strange noises), so hopefully this is just as reliable. My neighbors think I lost my mind, I have two silver Jeep liberty's parked next to each other. |

I should add that it seemed to do this after driving 25 miles, sitting still with the transmission in Drive, AC on full blast, not sure that matters. I keep reading about something called a crankshaft position sensor that could cause this. |

yea, distributorless ignition systems, or direct ignition systems have a crank-position sensor and if it fails, the computer no longer knows which cylinder to fire. so it is a possibility. only known reasons that i know of them to fail, aside from having a faulty one is if it becomes wet enough... |
