The condensation from my ac is leaking on to my passenger side floor and it not just a little water. I probally sucked up over a gallon or more. So im thinking the line is cloged. I blew alot of air threw the port on the fire wall in the motor compartment and it is still leaking just as bad. So i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem that could put thier 2cents in. Thank you The Jeep is a 2002 KJ Sport 4x4 |

my wifes 04 sport had a problem with the box under the dash which I believe is where the ac stuff is but she had a chunk of ice in it ( discoverd in spring) the dealer took care of the problem, had to take the whole box down & clean it out & whatever |

Hey desertlove.....I deal with these problems quite a bit where I work. You've probably heard of the "Cabin Air Filter"that most all manufacturers are putting in the newer model vehicles. One good funtion of this setup is that it keeps alot of debris out of the HVAC box under the dash.It also serves to keep the air cleaner within the cabin. When you experience a clog like this in your drain,by no means try to clear it with compressed air,as it will only blow it back into the box,and eventualy end up back in front of the drain.Instead, try to fish or drag it out with a small pick tool or a piece of coathanger with a small bend on the end. With this method, you want to take care not to push it up into the box more than a couple of inches as you could damage your evap. core by puncturing it.Do this method shortly after running the ac for a while and the water thats built up inside the box will help to rinse the debris out.Hope this helps. Do the later Liberty's have a rubber drain elbow on the firewall like the old Cherokees that would always clog up, and were easily cleared if you knew where to get your hand into to pull it off and put it back? |

Ron JeepJeepster's the one that did that. It's on his CarDomain if you want to check it out |

I figured out the problem. I guess that there is a hose thats suppose to come off the condensation spout in the engine compartment and mine was missing causing the air from my motor running to force the water back in and therefor overflowing into my jeep. It was about a 5dollar fix. I appreciate all your comments. Thank you |
