i needed to post this here to get more replies asap..

so me and my dad are going to hit up a tire place really soon and i need to know everything there is to know about 15" crager soft 8's on a liberty.. i know that they can clear the calipers but does this cause any problems in the long run by reducing the area around the calipers?

any and every bit of info about the affects of a 15 on a libby is really helpful

thanks!

If they clear the calipers you should be fine. The only problem I can see is that the caliper Could run a little hotter but I have seen a lot of wheels just barely clear calipers so I do not think it will be a problem.

If your jeep is sock hight and you are going to 15's you will have rubbing issues with any thing over a 235/70 on that rim
it all comes down to geometry and moving the center of the tire further out making the turing radius larger and a bunch of other tch. stuff that would take a long post to explain

no i totally understand all the rubbing stuff and i do think ill be safe

a 30 x 9.5 tire is just a hair taller and a little less wide than a 245/70 and people with out a lifted kj seem to run those a lot with very few issues..

and id only be pushing out the b/s a half of an inch and dont belive id encounter very many problems at all with that set up...

my real question was not of rubbing though, and instead if there was actually phisical problems with a smaller rim that will clear..

well then yes a 15" rim with 5" of BS will not clear the steering ,tie rod end
oh and you said you were wanting info about the soft 8 they run in the 3.75-4" of BS
you will NOT get a 30x9.5 on that rim on your KJ with out a lift
nolakj is running that rim with a 30x9.5 BFG MT's with a rustys coil lift All's upper A arms ,basicaly the works and he has rubbing like crazy
in fact he has more rubbing then I do
I run an OME lift with 245/75 Goodyear MTR's wich is a bigger tire
he rubs due to the rim pushing the tire center to far out

I have found that OE TJ aluminum wheels that have 4.5" of BS will clear the breaks but not the steering
