I'm not sure if I missed it when I bought my jeep or if I picked up a rock on a trip but I recently noticed that my right plastic cover to the stock fog light ('04 Limited - mounted below bumper) is cracked and smashed in a little bit. It's still held together as one piece but I'm sure water can get in there and I want to replace it before I have to worry about road salt getting in there and quickly corroding the wiring. The light itself works fine and for now I'll probably just put some clear packing tape over it until I can replace it.

Is this something I can do on my own after I order the part or do I need special tools to take it apart? Where can/should I order the part other than the stealer or is that my only choice? Does the entire bumper have to come off or is there an access panel I can get to? Sorry for all the questions, I haven't had the time to get under it to check everything out.

Thanks!

You will need the whole fog lamp assembly,it does not come apart.Try Jparts.com or worldpartsexpress.com,they should have them cheaper then the dealer.

You're kidding me!? just b/c the front lens is cracked? This seems like the same plastic that covers the main driving lights, if those were to crack would I need to replace the entire thing too?

Man that sucks. OK, next question. If water/road salt gets in there will I do more damage or should I just wait a while to see if I even need to replace it?

http://jparts.com/product_info.php?cPat ... 2f2dbecb9d

The link above (no idea how to make that link work for everyone) has it for $164 but it's the entire thing including the wire & switches. I'll look around and see if I can find anything else, I don't need the entire assembly. Maybe I should just upgrade them both? Any suggestions on that?

That sucks! I'm going to tell myself this happened after I bought it so I don't feel like I missed it prior to the purchase. Man that sucks. So do you think I can just tape it up and hope for the best? I guess so if it's going to mean I need replace the entire system.
