I installed a clevis lift and rusty's strut plates a few weeks ago. While working I found a gash in the inner wall of my right front tire. I decided to switch it out with the spare which was brand new, never used. The tire with the gash has about 30K on it, so there is a significant difference in the overall diameter. I did not intend at the time to buy a new tire for the left front, hoping to wait until fall to buy a larger size for all. I was wondering if I should be concerned about the difference in the diameter between the left front and right front. I was thinking I would be OK because I have an open diff. I am beginning to get concerned because I have just noticed a noise/vibration while coasting at 30mph. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Don't use 4WD with different size tires. That much I know.

Other issues, I'm not sure. I've tempted fate for over year. Upsized my tires from stock and never replaced my spare with a matching size.

Should not have any major issues. on the front you will notice some pulling due to the newer tire and diameter differences. maybe rotate the front to back will elliminate that.

You arent supposed to run around with tires different sizes, but I really dont think it would do any more damage than driving on curvy roads all day....like in KY for example. It could change handling and braking characterisitcs though, which could be unsafe. If you are really worried about it just put it on the Right Rear of a buddies old ford truck and let them have some fun with it  It will get smaller pretty quick.

That really only applies to tires of a different make and tread design where there will be a drastic difference in tire dimensions.

the spare if it is the same make and age as others only never used will be fine, but you will notice some pull due to the tread wear.

I'd think you'd make the problem worse if you make the rear ones different sizes. At least with the front the two wheels are independent of each other.
