Have you ever used your lightbar to scare off dumb little kids? I know i know its illegal to use it on public roads, these are just little residential areas where all the kids hang around walkin around at night.

I can recall two instances where i have used mine:

1st: About a week after i got my kj, i went to go pick up my gf and on the way i got to go through this residential neighborhood. Well on the way to her friends place, i seen two teenagers skateboarding down the middle of the road, now this road is not big enough to go around if they are right in the middle. So i am patient and wait and they finally turn thier heads and see me and move out of the way. So i go and get the gf and have to head back up that road again to head home, and tada, they are back, in the middle of the road, coming towards me this time. I wait again, they dont move, so i turn on my highbeams and my lightbar and it blinds them and they run into eachother and fall onto the sidewalk, WHERE THEY BELONG!! Anyways i had a good laugh about that and so did the gf when we drove by them.

2nd:Tonight actually, why i thought about asking this question lol. I was heading home from a friends place and went down a residential road to get down to my house, before i can get to my street i have to go through a 4-way stop. Now being 10:30pm, theres no cars around right now, but on the other side, there are two teenagers ready to cross, so i stop and let them pass, first they dont even pay attention while standing by the crosswalk. They then see i was waiting and finally walk across, then one of their cell phones ring and he stops in the middle of the crossway and talks on the phone, i was like what the hell! So again, i turn on the highbeams and lightbar then throw it in neutral and rev it and they both quickly run out of the way and i continue home.

Sorry for the long winded post, just curious if anyone has ever used theirs to fight off evil!

I use mine all the time but I don't get any teenagers in the road here...it is mostly deer, rabbits, skunks and porqupines.

It's highly irresponsible to use your lighting to "blind" people or for anything else but to help YOU see better off-road (or in your driveway or something). I hope you get caught one day and get to pay $600 per light.

I give you thumbs up for your non-violent performance. I probably would have gone all the way until the skateboarders were RIGHT in front of me and then......

The walker? I would have blown the horn so he couldn't hear and then pull up next to him and started talking loudly (not yell or be profane, just loud talking so he couldn't hear or pay attention to his conversation).

I used to have a 77 Dodge van , 4WD with 40s under it so you know it sat up a little  (floor inside was at 48/50 inches) anyways I had head lights under the bumper for normal driving, but also had aircraft landing lights in the regular headlight areas and 4- 130s on the roof. Now when you pulled up and someone was standing in the middle of the road or doing something else stupid and you hit all of them, trust me they thought a UFO had just spotted them! Have seen people run like H*** just to get away!

Funny sh*t, but do it around an area you frequent and you'll end up with a broken window or your vehicle being keyed; just a thought.

lol i knew there would be the few that didnt agree with it but its ignorant to also skateboard down the middle of the road knowing there is a driver tryin to go around you and you just dont care. Or stop in the middle of a cross walk because they think they are cool.

BeepBeepJeepJeep you need to get a life. Lighten Up!

I too applaude your non violent way of communicating that you have the right to the road also.

On my old 95 XJ i had 4 pairs of KC 100 and 135 watt lights tucked along the smittybuilt bull bar. 100 watters were wired to low beans and 135's were wired to relay off the highs.

Used to use them on kids in my parents neighborhood. as i would "Flash to pass from the turn signal dimmer switch they would alternate and send the little punks, I mean YOUTHS, skatterin.

I worked as a newspaper photographer in north central ohio and had a company radio and a police scanner in that XJ and all the "Inner city YOUTHS" though i was a cop. Cops loved watching me come down the street and watch the kids run.

One night i was with an off duty local cop, good friend anf i was driving him home from a local pub and we came accross some kids looking real close to a parked car as if they wanted to do some creative re-wiring to it. anyway Eddy asked if i had my scanner and i said yup he said turn it up and flash those lights of yours.

Same effect. scatered like rabbits.

That's what a horn is for 8) Won't be so amused when you're doing it and another car turns the corner, is blinded, and crashes into one of the said kids.

If you can't see another pair of lights coming at you at night then you have more problems to worry about!

I'm not talking about from a mile away, I mean at an intersection, a driveway, or other "close-range" type of encounters. There's a reason it's illegal. It's because of people like you that we have to worry about light covers!

 People like me? I don't even have the Ren lights. I'm not the one that brought it up. I've never done that. And I didn't mean from a mile away either. I'll say it again, If you can't see a pair of lights (FROM ANY DIRECTION) you have more problems to worry about.

Someone's a little edgy. Simma down now

A skateboarder himself?

Skateboarding down the middle of the road is unsafe and at ANY time a vehicle is coming towards you, you get out of the way, immediately. 2000-6000 lbs of vehicle vs 140 lbs of flesh, bones, water, electrolytes, protein, carbs, fat....etc......I'd say the results wouldn't be pretty.

Anyone that stops in a crosswalk in front of a car waiting for them to go by, deserves to have their cell phone smashed and not be allowed to have another one. Rudeness....and again, flesh vs steel, isn't gonna be the flesh winning.

If those kids did it to a gang banger, they would have been shot or run over.

Start with a horn and if no action; lights, camera, action.
