Post subject:  tires and cargo space
I'm picking up 5 MT/Rs Sunday. Can I fit all 5 in the back plus 1 backseat passenger? I'm kinda thinking no, but I have never even put any tires back there, so I need some first hand experience. Thanks.

Stand them upright 4 together and # 5 can share the back seat folded down of course I hauled 4 mounted on Moabs no problems

Make sure the passenger is in the single seat. You'll use every bit of the remaining cargo space.

Yup! I've gotten all 4 [stock sized] tires standing up in the back before....

There is actually a lot of room in the back cargo area of the Liberty

yes sleeve84028 would know all about hauling tires, seems like he may of hauled some away from my garage before! :lol: :lol: :lol: But yes Jon it will take up most of the room but no problems, now if you only had a roof rack :wink:

Yes that would help a lot! I'm stopping by IKEA while I'm over by Pittsburgh and I'm not quite sure where I'm going to put purchased goods yet.... I'm counting on "on top of the 5th tire..." :roll:

Bring some ratchet straps and a tarp... you may end up with some boxes on your roof rack! Just by coincidence we hit Ikea in the KJ yesterday....

The tires will fit just fine. 5 31" tires fit pretty easily in the back of a standard TJ with the seat folded or out. :lol:

IDK what kind of 31's yall are talking about
the ones I just put on the TJ would barely make 4 wide in the rear of my F250
granted it has tool boxes on the sides but still has 4' between them maybe the fact that they are superswamper LTB's is why :lol:
we hauled 5 30's on the rim in our KJ but it was close

I had (4) 245-75X16 Goodyear MTRs on MOABS standing straight up in the rear with the 5th in front of them on the rear seats, perfect fit! :wink: Also just brought home the 255-70X16s on the same Moabs the same way
