After installing the Frankenlift I am now getting a strange popping in the front end when turning and hitting a bump at the same time. It rarely, if ever happens when going straight ahead. I have verified that the sway bar links are tight and also checked the clevis bolts. I inspected the rack for cracks in the mounting tabs this weekend and didn't see any. Another thing is that I had it aligned this weekend and today after hitting a bump when turning the alignment is out again. I was not going extremely fast and it wasn't a giant pothole, just pulling out of a driveway at about 12 mph. I think something must be loose or broken but I can't find it. Any ideas what this could be?

I'd check all bolt torques - a pop sounds like somethings loose - the other thing that comes up is the sway bar needs to be tightened when it's off the jackstands sitting flat.
and I'd also check the links they adjust for the alignment - they've been know to forget to tighten things occasionally.

Might check your upper ball joints to make sure they are both tight, then check the upper mounting bolts on the shocks. Possibly check the upper control arm bolts to make sure they are tight as well.

Are you possibly hitting the pinch weld/plastic while turning and compressing the front end?

Is your sway bar hitting the lower control arm maybe. I think that was the problem with some lifts.

ATXKJ hit it on the head. The shop left the rear adjustment bolt on the right control arm loose. It is back there now to get re-aligned. It will be interesting to see if they try to tell me that something else was wrong so that they can cover their time to fix their mistake.

They didn't try to blame it on anything else. However, after they aligned it, the caster was still out by about .5 degree. He said that it was OK and due to the angle of the frame with the lift and that since it was so close to spec, that it should still drive OK.

Thats what I like about the shop that aligns mine, its a small place but they align it, test drive, it put it back on the rack recheck it and then make sure everything is tight once more before they let you go.

Hmm. I'm getting that popping sound after alignment as well. I'll have to take it back to the shop to have them look at it ... thanks guys.

Exact same thing. Popping sound near full-lock when turning, and it doesn't sound like the rubbing against plastic liner thing at all. Sounds a lot more metallic. No contact with the sway bar.
