Anyone else have problems with their Stock Deck? Every now and then certain buttons, CD players itself, or nothing works when I turn on my rig. So i have to pull over, stop the engine, wait a second or two, and then start it back up again...and then it works just fine :?:

Any one know what the deal is?

It's getting old FAST!

Stock Deck is a piece of junk. My CD player stopped working completely. DC claimed "well we don't manufacture our CD players to work with home-made CDs. So if someone played some, it could have damaged or destroyed the CD player. It's a known issue."

Also my volume control doesn't work very well and if I turn it too quickly, it could either jack the volume to full, or send the volume down to the bottom. I have to turn it 2-3 clicks per second. It's a pain. Can't wait to change it out. Can't believe they want $400.00 for a new factory unit. What a scam.

only button that sometimes doesn't work for me is eject on the cd player. the cd player also doesn't like tracks 3-7 on any cd (home made or bought) and refuses to play them =/

yeah i also have a stock radio its a tape player but it has the 6 disc controlls and i also have a sony walkman with the tape hook up for it. i used it for about a month when i first got it and now i have a pioneer with the aux control.. this would also be a good way to listen to ur mp3 player in the car. i would seel all for 20 since the walkman is so new or the tape deck for 10 + shiping.

Why not have it replaced? Even if you knew exactly what's wrong with it, it's still unlikely to be field-serviceable. According to what you write (power down, wait, re-apply power) it looks like firmware problem of some sort (on the head unit itself) that is cleared by removal of power.

My dealership replaced my stock head unit after it got sandy enough it started scratching disks.
