Air Filter Recommendation

I was wondering about air filters mine is due for a new one. The brand that comes to mind is K&N. I have heard that the air flow is better but you only looking at 98% filtration. Any opinions on what directions to go.

I have the FIPK from K&N and it increased my mileage 1.5-2 mpg.

The Amsoil EA filter for the stock air box is a big improvement over any other air filter that fits the stock box. Its supposed to be a lifetime filter too. I've only had mine for about 6000 miles and cleaned it once (vacumed it off) so I can't vouch for the lifetime thing.

K&N is a waste of money. I hate the FIPK I have and wish I could fit the stock air box back in place. Mine has an Amsoil cone filter on it but I am still not a fan. My KJ w/ stock air box and drop in Amsoil filter (Eaa201) gets better mileage and feels more responsive on the bottom end then my KJ w/ FIPK and cone has ever been. Buy a drop-in and save your money for other mods.

If it helps make your decission any easier I bought my '02 sport last July one of the first things I did was drop in a K&N air filter, and converted to Amsoil from bumper to bumper. Well a year later I found out about L.O.S.T. and after much reading changed to the Amsoil . I gained 2.5 to 3 mpg I should have done it the first time but I didn't know about the dry Amsoil filter now I do and it is far superior.

90K miles, I guess it's time to change my air filter! (just kidding, I've changed it a few times)
However, the Amsoil sounds like the way to go. PM me with the info & I'll order one.

I'm glad I read that. I have not been impressed with my K&N. Looks like its time to say goodby K&N. I could use a few more mpg.

Ya post a link. The only thing i have cared to run k&n filters in are my 4 Wheeler's. I think they should stick to them

I just replace mine with the Wix, and it does okay, but sort of interest in the amsoil one too
