alright... i was driving down the highway yesterday and all of a sudden, i could see the antenna reallly swaying to the left and right. it is not tight enough. i put on some grippy stuff, but that didn't make it any better... anyone know of anything else i could put between the piece and the RL license plate bracket to make it from moving 100%? Thanks~

Turn the plate with the notch in it 90 degrees and tighten the hell out of it.

remember the mount is part of your ground plane. Needs metal to metal contact.

grind/file a small flat on the license plate shaft -
then drill a small hole through the antenna bracket to add a setscrew that stops on the flat.

Did you try taking the groved plate off and rotating it 90 degrees so the grove is perpendicular to the shaft?

Do that an tighten the crap out of it. You might also akte some vise grips to the shaft and clamp down on it and put some tooth marks in the metal, giving the mount some teeth to grip to and not a smooth surface.

The last try would be to get it all tightened up and then drill through the mounts, both of them and then tapping threads so a small screw passes through all or at least half of the antenna mount and the plate bracket. Kind of a lock or set screw.
