Hello, I just went out to check my transmission fluid because I (stupidly) used the clutch in some questionable water situations. I just put my finger in the trans and the consistency seems fine, but there are tiny little bubbles in the oil. Not enough to make it foamy or anything, but I was wondering if that had anything to do with the weather or if I should change the fluid. I really don't want to change the fluid because changing trans fluid in 40 degree weather is not fun. Thanks, Bill |

If you really think you have water in there, isn't it worth it to spend a few bucks to let someone else do it in the cold for you? I'm sure a decent transmission shop wouldn't charge all that much, especially if you provide the fluid, etc. |

I like Darby's metaphore there... Your transmission is much more expensive to replace than the relativly small amount of money you'll spend to reassure yourself that there is not any water in the transmisison casing. |
