Pending Electrical mods in conjunction with ARB bumper and RL Gecko Roof Basket mods.

Details and pics to come. Got the ARB back from powdercoating.

Gecko Roof Basket is being made now, delivery soon, I hope and pray.

Key items:
1. Adding 100 watt KC Fogs to the ARB w/ water tight connectors and grommetts for the tightest and cleanest install.
2. Re-Doing the Wiring looms of the ARB turnsignals With water tight connectors
3. Re-doing the OEM Fogs from grill and installing in the ARB with water tight connectors
4. relaying power to ARB KC's
5. running relayed power to a pair of 130 watt KC driving lights and a pair of 150 watt KC long range lights and finaly a CB antena cable to service the RL Gecko Roof Basket.
6. conceling the wiring for all including the Gecko for the cleanest possible install. (This is the toughest trick of all and not real sure how to pull it off, YET)
7. maintaining a total black theme and consistant group of mods.

Step one:
Rough wire switches on dash and run wires for Gecko Basket as I wait for ARB and Gecko to arrive. (DONE Pics coming soon)

Step two:
Procure the water tight Delphi Packard connectors, fuse block, wire, switches, relays and all neccessary hardware including lights.

Step three:
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION of the water tight fuse block and relays. Right now looking to fab a shelf to mount all right under the power block infront of battery. Just enough room to get my hand down there if a fuse ever needs to be change. frees up space for future water bottle re-locaton if needed.

Step four:
Run wires from ARB to the factory looms for turnsignals and OEM fogs using new water tight DP connectors that will facilitate the removal of the ARB if ever decide to winch it. Aslo run wiring for KC 100 watt fog lights from ARB location to fuse and relay blocks.

Step five:
Mount ARB so I have a place to put my beer while I watch my KJ burn from electrical fires (Just kidding) finish front end and all wiring and conceling. Test on unsuspecting drivers.

Step six:
Wait for RL Gecko Roof Basket.

Step seven:
Still waiting.

ARB Pics So Far, Wiring pics to come as I get neccessary equipment to re-do wiring.

This weekend, if not deer hunting, adding fuse and relay block and get final wiring to fogs and run as much as I can for Gecko Rack located lights.

In the future:
Old Man Emu HD lift (part of this is on it's way now. have to buy it a piece at a time, Lift Party notice to come)

MAYBE 16 inch soft 8's for meatier tires, these limited 17" wont allow much in the wheel wells.

Looks great. It's amazing what having a clean body-matched color coat does to make things look "right". Looking forward to seeing the lift on there (factory height looks a little wimpy with the bull bar on)

If you don't mind me asking, how much did having the prep and p-coat set you back?

I am afraid to jinx it by saying.

I have a buddy who owns a truck equipment company. He builds everything from fire trucks to garbage trucks. does alot of fabricationg for snow plow trucks and what not.

Set my bumper out with a load of stuff to be powder coated. sends stuff out 2 to 3 times a day.

He has not received a ticket on it yet and asked the guy to treat it as one of his "Pet Projects", which usualy means it gets lost in the paper work.

Right now it didn't cost me a dime. 400.00 bucks for the bull bar, 40.00 for new turn signals, 0.00 for podwer coating. all in all not a bad deal.

Every once in a while I fall in a rose bush and come out smelling like roses.

Fair enough :)

Low milage KJ in good shape = $20k
Lightly used ARB bumper = $440
Buddies who p-coat = Priceless

So yours has wings on both sides? right side covers the washer bottle what does the drivers side cover? Looks good for sure its getting there. Sounds like you will have enough lights on it ! I have 2 130 watt Cepeks on the ARB and have only used them a few times while on the back roads of Southeastern Ohio, NEVER get to use them up here  Glad to see you are going with the OME lift you will be surprised how much better it will ride!
Oh I still have you beat on the price of the used ARB

Tom

The driverside covers the horn assembly.

The only issue I had with the install, aside from not having both fog brackets, was with the tire pressure monitoring sensors. I had to relocate them prior to adding the covers. They used a mounting hole that arb spec'd and besides they hung down and showed looked like crap.

OK just wondering as the earlier ones dont have one on the drivers side, only the one to protect the washer bottle.

Image

Last night I re wired the ARB top mounted 100 watt KC fogs to come on with the factory fogs, but switched seperately.
