Post subject:  Stock Wheel Center Caps

Anybody have a single or set of the chrome color wheel center caps for 2002 Liberty? I got four winter tires on OEM Jeep wheels (the same stock wheels I have on the Jeep now) from the previous owner, but one center cap is missing, which the dealer, big suprise, broke when changing the wheels from winter to summer. Why the dealer would ever take the center cap off is beyond me. I could take one off my current wheels, but would like the extra one to put on the winter set. I checked Ebay, and some sets of four are going for over $40. Is this center cap not just plastic?? Anyone wanting to get rid of a used one, I am willing to buy it. Doesn't have to be next to new condition, because the winter wheels/rims are pitted a bit anyway.

They have to take the center cap out to fit the wheel on the balancer (that's why the hole is there in the first place)

That being said...why don't you tell them to buy you new ones, since THEY broke 'em?

The dealer broke it when the previous owner had it done. They should never had taken it off, because there is two sets of tires on two sets of stock rims. The winter tires came off, and they put the summer's on, and they broke the center cap on the winter set. The winter tires should have came right off and into the back of the Jeep. Same putting them back on, they were already balanced. darn dealers............

You said it, and so did my buddy who owned the Jeep. They had no business taking it off in the first place. Probably a sales strategy, make you order a new one or a set for an outrageous price. I will post in the wanted section. Thanks.
