For anyone who has crossbars on their roof rails how has it affected mileage? in particular I am interested systems like the gecko sports rack

Considering the vehicle has the aerodynamics of brick, the roof rack shouldn't make a huge impact.

The flat stock rail won't affect your mileage. Now on the other hand, if you mount a THULE M.O.A.B. up there :JEEPIN: and decide it looks cool, as "one" L.O.S.T. member did *AHEM* :roll: , then drive around, you'll notice about a 2 mpg loss :grim:

I have Thule Aero crossbars. Alone they make no noticeable difference. Actually attach something to them, well that is a different equation.
