I have a Sport so the flares and bumper are the gray textured molded plastic. I don't particularly like the gray look. I would prefer black. I was thinking of having the bumpers and flares Rhino lined. Is that type of coating going to stick to textured plastic really well? Is Rhino lining to shiny for flares? Is it flexible enough?

Recently somone coated the lower portion of the doors with Rhino lining, but not the flares. I would think, because it's up to a quarter inch thick, might add too much weight to the rivets holding the flares in place. You could always use that krylon paint for plastics and try repainting them.

Here's a link. Probably cheaper than all four flares coated.

I beleive that you need flexolite for the flares so the paint stays on.

I think CA Wally at one time rhino lined his fender flares. He is the one with the Camo Edition KJ. However, god only knows what he has done to his KJ since.

Karen (and Tim) have lined their flares. Looks good, but they had problems keeping the flares on. Extra thickness meant they didn't seat just right.

Not sure that's been fixed/solved yet.

Although I have a Limited (painted black to match body color), I think the gray flares look cool especially on a blue KJ.

Thanks for the responses. I actually own a body shop here in Socal. I generally don't like painting textured flares because it is hard to really prep them well but it can be done. I thought Rhino lining would be tough but forgot how thick it is. I think I'll just stick with the gray for right now.
