The deterent system is the little red light that flashes on your insturment cluster. the imobilizer is the key with the transponder / ignition with a reciever that doesn't allow your vehicle to run for longer than 15 seconds without the proper code. Both are part of the same system though. |

OK, my built sheet says deterrent system and I know that little red light turns on when I start the jeep. But when you lock it up I thought it was supposed flash like it was arming an alarm system and mine does not do that. |

That's different for sure.. Mine arms or flashes for 13 seconds right after you lock the doors. Does the yellow sentry key light come on when you start the Jeep as well? |

Sentry key light? Is it on the dash or supposed to be on the key. My key has no light, the red light next to the fuel guage comes on when I start the jeep. But it does not flash when I lock it up. |

Sentry key=Chip in key that wont allow engine to start if its not there. Security system= Horns and lights flash when a door is opened if its armed. A red light flashes on the cluster when its armed. I think the Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System and Sentry Key Immobilizer System is the same thing. |
