Has anyone had a remote installed? If so what and where. Can a factory one be modified to work.
I have an 02 sport 5spd stripped. No security.

thanks

you just bypass the clutch-starter interlock switch and dont leave the car in a gear. its as easy as 1 2 3!! not really...

You don't have to buy a special remote starter, you can make any of them work with a manual. I don't think any of them will say you can install on a manual for liability reasons. If you can figure out a way to make sure the tranny is not in gear before it tries to start, you would be 100% safe; otherwise everytime you go to start it, you'll be asking yourself "Did I leave it in neutral?"

Some people in colder climates don't like putting on their rubbers and a coat to go out and scrape their windows.

One would think the enviormentalist would be all up in a hissie fit about burning gas for no reason.

3.50/ gallon gas and climbing. Remote starters sound like a lot of fun to me.

I would recommend getting an aftermarket remote start that is designed for a manual transmission. They are expensive, but they have interlocks to make sure the eBrake is on and the transmission is in neutral before it will start. If you forget either of those, it just won't start. You REALLY don't want to remote-start your jeep and have it rampage through the neighborhood. Some states can't legally install them for safety reasons, so you might have to find a shop that will look the other way or do it yourself.
