how are some of you affording to do so much stuff to your jeeps? i want to lift mine BADLY, but the funds are lacking, bills keep coming :( lol

i want either OME HD springs with ranchos, or just go ahead and spend the extra and get the frankenlift 2 premium. and i want an arb front bumper and either a tru-trac or no-slip in the rear end.

it would be nice to get a loan and be able to do all this stuff at once. but i should probably save my money lol

When you find out let me know. I worked some crazy o/t to buy my stuff. Some came from income tax return. Some came from selling junk on ebay etc. I have no where near what some of these guys have and wonder how they do it. I keep getting bills in the mail every month, i'm like wtf i gotta buy doo doo for my kj.

Make good deals on stuff, for example my ARB was way less than 1/2 price since it was used , it also came with some other parts that I resold, also been buying and selling Moabs/MTRs and making some extra KJ cash, Kilby skid found on Ebay for a third of a new one shipped, New parts were OME springs and Rancho shocks were new but shopped around and bought when on sale and free shipping etc. Took 2 months to get everything for the lift but well worth it. Boulder Bars used 1/2 price, etc etc etc Everyone wants it all right now, wait around watch whats being sold, watch what others are posting and changing on theirs, for example bought a set of 4 Spidertrax from a guy on ROF because I saw where he stated he just ordered new wheels, PMd him and told him to sell me the spidertrax when he had the wheels, bought and resold them= extra KJ cash. It may take a while but you will have a KJ that you want in no time! Now that I have just posted my secrets to KJ parts dont ya dare bid against me, cause I will win!    I have been buying and selling parts for 30 years and its financed a lot of nice rigs.

Ive bought almost all of the stuff for my Jeep in the for sale section on here.

-OME Lift. At the time I bought it all but rear springs which I got from All J's. I later on got Rustys front coils for Christmas to lift it more.

Locker-Half price

Moabs-Heck of a great deal

Mopar roof rails

Clear turn-signals

Front skid plate

Made my rocker rails myself

Most of everything else I saved up and bought myself.

NOT a good idea to get a loan for mods...costs more than it should and if you are close on bills now it will only get worse.

Do a cheap lift...clevis in the front (can get almost 1.5") and spacers (1.5-2" DayStar Pucs) in the rear with longer shocks...less than $170.00 or so. You will be amazed what 1.5" will do for the look and funtion of your KJ.

Look in the For Sale Section...can get some good stuff for a bargain...

Better to Enjoy your Ride than have the Credit Bandits Ride you...

I bought my OME Lift in the For Sale Section...saved about $200.00

I made a 3" Open Catback...welded mandrel bent tubing for less than $200.00

I used Coroplast and made a custom (still testing) air duct for my CRD...$4 for paint

I got ASFIR to use me as the Test Mule for thier Aluminum Skids and Nerf bars...FREE plus $200.00 to get installed (didn't have time or a lift)

Saved enuff to buy some nice replacement tires...$550.00 for 5 235/75/16s

I work in an oil-related industry and get 4 very nice bonuses per year. Gas is almost $3/gallon here! WOOHOO! Oh wait. Sorry.

As you can see we all have bills/ various monthly payments etc. just gotta do what ya can and save up and grab some good deals. There maybe a few rich  people on here but most of us all have to work to support our habits, i.e. roof over our heads, food on the table and Jeep parts, although sometimes not in that order

ROFL!!! you officially rule for that statement.

Tom...I prefer to buy/resell whole cars to finance my toys:D Granted...the ONE I bought with the intention to keep is gonna cost me more than a few bucks and as a result, my bike budget this spring is probably gonna be depleted...D'OH!

Oh well...Just Empty Every Pocket

I look at it this way, if I got all the stuff for my KJ at once it would ruin the fun of spending my free time researching stuff I don't have yet and the anticipation of buying it and waiting for it to come in the mail. Piece by piece is fun and I don't know how many times I changed my mind on tires and roof rack before I bought them, but it was alot. Don't get me wrong, if I could afford it I would go shopping spree in a second.

not funny. not even close with all those record profits being reported every quarter and the prices just keep climbing. enjoy your windfall but don't rub it in our faces.
