It's late, so I'm just siting here thinking about jeep stuff of course. Just wondering, if it is possible to install a teralow 4:1 kit on the libbys 231 transfer case? Would it tear the drive shafts, Dana 30a, or 8.25 up, if it could be mounted? I know I could get custom drive shafts, and stronger yukons for the 8.25. But that 30a and its shafts would worry me (even more then they do now).

What do you guys think? Dreaming to big?

Nate

all in how you drive it, personally on a libby, i'd start by regearing the axles before the t'case.

If you dont mind the cost then yeah it is fine to do that
the problem with the 30a is shock load not applied load
95% of the time you will loose traction before you will break some thing
it is wheel spin then sudden traction that breaks stuff
I see more guys with open diff.'s and OE gears running 33's on a TJ break more then guys who are locked
running 35's + and super low gears ,the big guys or just the guys who are locked dont get crazy wheel spin
