This is funny.... I did not where to post it but here should be ok Talked to the wife yesterday and told her I wanted to add bigger tires to our Renny and eventually a lift so I can go offroading without worries and have our libby looking good, and this is the response I got: "I love the fact you are getting involved with a Jeep club and going to meetings, putting stickers on our windows, getting t/shirts and all that BUT, if you are going to pimp our ride then I want the Commander". Enuf said.... boy; am I in trouble Well, I might not have expressed myself quite right above..... I can Keep the libby and mod it any way I want as long as she gets a commander too! I can get the libby for myself She happens to love the Renny but with bigger tires and a lift and who knows what more, it's too much for her. So with the commander all for herself, problem solved.[/b] |

That's Funny! I received a cold response from my wife when at only 588 miles on the ODO I upsized the tires and got a bunch of decals on our Libby. All she said in a monotone voice, and slowly, was "that's nice..." |

How the hell could a lift and tires EVER cost $35,000? You could buy a libby and another car for that much. |

I think that is what he meant A new libby because if it is a typo and he meant $3500 he is still too high right? |

It's too high even for a new libby .. I don't think you could get it up to 35,000 with every single factory option available |

I suppose it's possible to hit 3500 for a lift with new wheels and tires. Figure franken is one of the most expensive, that costs like $800, figure $1000 total if you pay for the install. Lets go nuts and say he gets ripped off and pays $1200 total for it. Now lets get some meats. What's a tire cost, like $180? $200? times 5, we have another grand right there. Lets get some Rubicon wheels, $175 a pop on eBay, all 5 of em. $875 Total in parts alone is $2600. Add to that the cost of the labor for the lift, the tire mounting, balancing, SHIPPING for all these parts if you can't get em locally. $3500 is not that far off. As for the original topic, though, if you want to "pimp your ride" forget about the commander. It's a new model, so there is NOTHING available for it. Wait 5 or 6 years and then it's pimpable. |

I'll keep the libby and mod it as much as my wallet allows the commander is for the wife! See original post above updated |

Sorry about all the confusion... Frankenlift, tires, and a new car for wife... (The prices are also in Canadian dollars) My 2002 limited cost me ~$34,000 after taxes. |

Gosh you guys are slow.. He already said that if he lifts his KJ, the wife demands a Commander. By the way, what's the code for the new Commander? Is it YK? |

My wife did say later that she would settle for a Wrangler. I hope she don't read this thread! |

Pimp the ride? She does not know what pimp means. Please instruct her on the proper term before you spend $35,000+ |

I Like on the commericial for the Commander with the Ice Man in the back it states * starts at $26,000. Then down the bottom it has *=4x2 model. Model shown is $42,000..haha.. I would buy a Hummer for that d$o$u$g$h or spend a few thousand more for a used Cayenne.. |
