Hey Guys, well I just got a 2006 liberty sport 4x4, I noticed the other day that my part time light was on when I was in 2wd and would go off when I was in 4hi so I put it into 4lo and my 4lo light was not on whe n locked into 4lo but it did come on right in between netral and 4lo I was thinking that it might be some kind of sensor and I checked the plug on top of the tranfercase. Could you guys please give me some insight?

If you are still under warranty just have the dealer you bought it from deal with the sensor. Which by the way, it is the lever sensor that is out of adjustment.

the lever sensor went in my 03 kj as well. I never bothered to replace it. All it does is tell you when you are in 4wd. Nothing else. at a time when I was in 2wd the 4wd light would be on.
All it does is light up. it does not have any mechanical issues with it.

so there is really no reason to bother replacing it? so it does not bother with the engine or the compression ratio when in 4lo? Thanks for the feed back

ok the other day I went on a trail after it rained and put it in to 4hi worked fine climbed a small hill and then put it into 4lo and all 4 wheel woork in unison but it felt as if it was not pulling any different than in 4hi..... is this just my imagination or does this still have to do with the sensor?

are you sure it was fully engaged? 4lo has a different gear ratio and you would definitely be able to tell a difference if it were. You really have to pull to get it into 4lo. I usually have to play a bit from a slow roll in neutral to get it to engage.

I had the same problem (discussed here). It corrected itself after about a week and has not come back.
